Best Drugstore Foundations for Combination and Oily Skin

Feeling like an oil stick after just a few hours of applying makeup can be discouraging. It makes you question the purpose of putting it on in the first place. If you're experiencing this, chances are the products you're using aren't suitable for your skin type.

To combat this, I've compiled a list of the top 5 affordable foundations tailored for those with oily or combination skin. The key is to opt for foundations that offer a matte finish. Don't let the term "matte" intimidate you! Even if you have oily skin, you can still achieve a hydrated, dewy look. Simply use powder to set your foundation in your T-zone ONLY (the center of your face, including the chin, undereyes, and forehead), and leave the rest of your face to breathe!

Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint - $10

If you are looking for something lighter but still has great coverage, I would highly recommend Maybelline’s new(ish) Skin Tint. The slight shimmer in this product gives a glowy effect to the skin, but the formula feels pretty dry so keeps any oils at bay. Also, it’s non comedogenic which is great for anyone who suffers with acne or sensitive skin.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation - $14.99

Swinging to the other side of the foundation coverage spectrum, the L’Oreal Pro-Matte is an excellent option for those looking for a drugstore full-coverage matte foundation. This one is bullet proof for those who struggle with super oily skin. The only downside is it will cling to dry patches.

Wet ‘n Wild PhotoFocus Matte Foundation - $6.89

The most affordable foundation on this list was one that I kept in my bridal makeup kit for YEARS. Everyone was always blown away but the beautiful coverage and lasting power of this under $7 Wet n Wild foundation. I’ve started using the dewy version for my dry skin, but the matte version is just *chef’s kiss* for those would produce more oils.

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless - $10.99

If you have oily skin but are looking for something with a satin to glowy finish, this Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation is your girl. I have loved this foundation in my personal kit for years and have gotten so many of my friends hooked on it. Just be sure to set your face with a good powder, so you don’t get too oily throughout the day.

Revlon ColorStay Longwear Makeup for Combination/Oily Skin - $9.99

Last but not least, the Revlon ColorStay Longwear Foundation is another great option for oily and combination skin. This has a great matte finish, promises up to 24 hours of wear (why would you ever want to wear your makeup that long), and has a medium to buildable coverage.
