Best Drugstore Foundations for Dry Skin
Keep reading to discover budget-friendly foundation options that cater to dry skin without draining your wallet. I’ve rounded up my top 5 picks for affordable foundations that not only nourish your skin but also provide various finishes such as satin, dewy, and matte, catering to different preferences and coverage needs.
This has been one of my favorite affordable foundations for 10+ years. I know the bottle says for “Normal to Oily” skin, but I find it is perfect for all skin types, especially dry skin types that are looking for a satin, skin-like finish. This will not cling to any dry patches and helps to hide the look of pores. It has a medium to buildable coverage which is easy to cover with an additional layer for people who struggle with acne or redness. I like to apply this foundation with my fingers or a brush then smooth over the edges with a sponge. It also comes in a wide range of shades and undertones with 40 different options!
2. Wet n Wild BareFocus Tinted Hydrator - $6
One of my favorite drugstore foundation finds! This tinted hydrator (code word for foundation) has hyaluronic acid and vegan squalene in it which help boost skin hydration. I love finding foundations that also have skincare ingredients included. It is also cruelty free, vegan, and paraben free. Created with dry skin in mind, it has a medium coverage that is able to hide redness without a problem. I suggest applying with your fingers and a sponge. The one downfall with this product is there isn’t a huge shade range (only 12 shades).
3. L’Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Glow Radiant Foundation - $14.99
I don’t think this foundation gets talked about enough! It is a drugstore option that many claim is better than high-end formulas. The reason people love it so much is because the dewy, radiant finish that lasts all day (up to 24 hours) without needing touch ups. I also love that it has SPF included even if it’s only SPF 15. The coverage is fantastic as well, I consider it a medium to full coverage affordable foundation. I would highly recommend applying this with a sponge because a little goes a long way.
4. L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation - $10
One of the drugstore’s most loved foundations with a fantastic 47-colored shade range that clearly outlines cool, neutral, and warm undertones. I love this foundation for its skin-like finish and light to medium coverage. I also love it even more now that they included a pump with packaging. A very basic foundation that will even out your complexion.
5. L’Oreal True Match Nude Tinted Serum - $14.99
Another great drugstore serum with skincare ingredients included in the formula. This tinted serum foundation has 1% hyaluronic acid to help aid in hydration making it perfect for dry skin. I’d recommend this product to anyone looking for a sheer to light coverage with a dewy finish. The best way to apply this sheer foundation is with your fingers - just like you would with skincare! My only complaint is the dropper does not work very well, so you have to get the product out with your fingers.
